This richly decorated wooden box used to be made by skilled artisans within the Tatra Mountains of Poland. Historically, lavishly decorated boxes like this were presented as an elegant gift exclusively to royal families all the way through Europe to hold their most treasured belongings. Designs traditionally highlighted Polish plants and geometric shapes found all the way through centuries of architecture. Many of our Polish boxes now have a brand new twist, featuring more up to date designs such as occupations and Celtic symbols. The use of only traditional woodworking techniques, these boxes are hand-carved and secured with brass or copper inlays. Every box is stained, sealed, and lacquered, ensuring its durability. The felt-lined interior will assist cushion any heirloom or keepsake kept within.
